Sorriso Kitchen at 252 Main St in Chatham offers a warmly inviting spot for breakfast and brunch that doubles as a reliable lunch stop and occasional catering provider. This family-run restaurant creates a cozy, approachable atmosphere where the buzz of a busy brunch crowd mixes with genuine hospitality — it’s the kind of place where regulars settle in for a long, relaxed morning and visitors feel instantly at home.

Those who come here tend to appreciate thoughtful takes on classic brunch dishes with a New Jersey twist. The menu leans heavily into comfort foods elevated by fresh ingredients and careful preparation. Notable choices include the Taylor Ham Benny, an unmistakably local favorite reimagined with perfectly poached eggs and rich hollandaise, and inventive options like the Veggie Benny or the Sorriso Breakfast Sandwich that features crispy prosciutto and roasted red pepper aioli on toasted sourdough. Coffee lovers will find more than just a cup here — whether it’s an iced latte to shake off a sleepy morning or a vanilla latte to sip through conversation, the drinks complement the food without overshadowing it.

Dining here during peak weekend brunch hours means you might wait, sometimes up to 50 minutes, but local visitors have found that the nearby shops and friendly staff make the wait part of the outing rather than a drag. The interior maintains a cozy vibe without feeling cramped, and seating arrangements sometimes place diners near the bustling order area, which surprisingly adds a neighborly touch rather than noise or distraction. The team behind the counter is hands-on and communicative, using technology to keep wait times clear and encouraging a warm, personal connection — something appreciated by families and solo diners alike.

Sorriso Kitchen is best experienced when you have the time to linger — quiet weekday mornings or early weekend slots bring a more laid-back pace, while later weekend brunches have that lively, communal energy that makes the place feel like a local meeting ground. Its location in Chatham, a town with a charming small downtown feel, means you can easily plan a full morning or afternoon around your visit.

Lunch offerings shift toward satisfying, straightforward fare like the Sorriso House Burger and the Patty Melt, catering to those who drop in midday for a heartier meal. Side dishes like seasoned fries or sweet potato fries round out the menu, making it a good pick for both quick lunches and longer brunch gatherings. The steady presence of dishes centered around eggs and bread (croissants, brioche, challah French toast) signals a menu designed for comfort and versatility.

All told, Sorriso Kitchen fits well in the community as a spot where people come to slow down over a thoughtfully crafted meal but also feel connected to the local rhythm. It’s not just a place for sustenance but a venue where the friendliness of the staff and the familiarity of the dishes encourage repeat visits and a steady weekend crowd.

We had a great Saturday brunch here! We had to wait about 50 minutes for our party of 4 to be seated but it was easy to pass the time exploring the shops in Chatham. All the food was delicious — we can’t wait to come back and try more of the options!

Booked their special taste testing menu and was very happy of the food courses provided. Everything was so well presented and the flavors matched perfectly with the dishes. Loved the squash soup and the apple tart with honeycomb. A wonderful experience with the nicest hosts and staff. For sure will try to book for next month.

What a wonderful family owned business. I had the pleasure to dine here with my family this weekend and it was just so lovely. They have a great reservation system, quick text to you, so we could wait in the care with the family. We were seated right by the cashier, while I thought that would be a disaster, it was actually very pleasant and gave us a chance to chance with Karen the owner. She was lovely and was very engaging. What a wonderful host she was. We dined on breakfast and lunch. Falafel Burger w. Sweet Potato Fries - Really big and filling, needed a bit more of the sauce so it didn't taste dry. The fries were amazing. Good size and super tasty, not dry at all. DO NOT CHANGE A THING. :-) Brioche French Toast - Quantity was fantastic and tasted so delicious and very filling our soon is very picky but he absolutely love this. Cinnamon Bun Pancakes with Home fries: This was delicious though I should have short stacked them. It wasn't too sweet which is what my expectation was and the home fries with their seasoning was just delicious. I also had scrambled egg with cheese it was very fluffy. My wife is the only one I know that makes it fluffy so this was amazing. Overall the experience was amazing. The only issue we had and why I gave a 4 out of 5 was the lack of non-pork options on the menu. It would serve them well to have turkey bacon or sausage on the menu. Overall the experience was amazing and we will be back again. Thank you Karen.

Excellently prepared, and tasting dishes. The staff is super nice and they obviously care about what they serve. We went for brunch and ended up hitting the peak hour so we waited about an hour for a table, but it was well worth the wait. The inside is beautifully put together and is nice and cozy. I highly recommend this place, particularly for brunch. This is a sought after place, and it shows in the quality that they serve Update February 2025: Wait times, particularly for larger groups can still be a challenge, but worth the wait. Staff are still awesome and food is still good. Great brunch/lunch spot Update July 2022: This can be a very busy place, particularly for Sunday brunch, plan on an average wait time of 20-40 minutes at peak times, come early or later to avoid the rush, but they may be out of items the later in the brunch hour. The staff here are fantastic, always love chatting with the owners, so friendly! Update October 2022: Apparently a few months back they got their old chef back and he has definitely changed up many items on the menu, but I have to say, I'm sad the previous chef left. I used to always look forward to ordering the Maple Bacon Beauties, but that dish was changed up and i really don't like it anymore. There just something lacking on many items over the past few months, and I'm a bit bummed. Overall it's still a nice brunch spot, but it seems to have lost it's best touches on the dishes, so I've downgraded the star rating. It's ok

Sorriso has become one of my favorite brunch spots. The staff is always warm and accommodating, and we almost never have to wait for a table. The food is consistently delicious and feels thoughtfully put together. It’s an easy place to recommend when you want a relaxed and satisfying brunch.

Everything about this place is good. Their food is fresh and delicious. I always go for the steak and eggs skillet. The waffles are good too. The staff are very nice and they always try to accommodate us except the table next to their trash area. Terrible. Please push the table further out or to the other side. It’s a waste of space because no one wants to use it. Other than that, a great place and almost always open during public holidays.

This place was such a great find by my wife. We came here for breakfast as soon as they opened at 9am people were waiting to enjoy their breakfast as hopefully as much as we did. We were greeted by very friendly staff and the service was quick and they were very attentive. The food was sooo delicious! We started with the maple bacon beauties, they had a Wonderful crunch from the pecans and a sweet and salty flavor from the chunks of bacon. We then shared a egg platter with the crispiest potatoes I ever had for breakfast. We also tried the French toast which was so soft and creamy and the edges had a little crisp to them, they were perfect. We really enjoyed our meal and the restaurant. Can't wait to pass by again when we are in the area.
